오늘은 수업 관련한 내용으로 연수일기를 작성하겠습니다.
오늘은 시험을 대비해서 여섯가지 Phrasal Verb를 배웠습니다.
의미와 함께 예시를 들어보겠습니다.
To take someone in은 Deceive와 같은 의미입니다.
Ex) I was taken in by Bob’s promise to investcapital in the business.
Ex) It’s easy to take him in.
To get hold of은 Obtain과같은 의미입니다.
Ex) Where can I get hold of a cheap andsecond-hand car?
To come up with은 Invent와같은 의미입니다.
Ex) I wonder who came up with the idea forthis gadget.
To own up은 Confess와같은 의미입니다. 그리고 Confess는 Confide와도 의미가 유사해요.
Ex) If only the thief had owned up to thecrime when he had the chance.
To set up은 Establish와같은 의미입니다.
Ex) A committee was set up by thegovernment to oversee the changes.
To bring out은 Publish와같은 의미입니다.
Ex) We wish we had brought out the novelsooner.
